Thousands flock to Ireland's largest festival of world cultures.

The Belfast Mela (meaning 'to meet'), bathed in sunshine, as tens of thousands of people packed into Botanic Gardens to enjoy a show stopping line up featuring music, dance, food, fashion,street theatre, circus and carnival from across the globe.

A massive big thank you to all that came down and to the entire team that worked in making this the biggest and best Mela to date.

Great to see all colours of citizen there at this event...the rest of Belfast take note...when we are all together we all have fun...a splendid advertisement for culture in Belfast. More please. It was a fab day with great atmosphere. So good to see such a large crowd all enjoying the sunshine and music. You rock it ArtsEkta!! Let's hope it won’t be too long before Mela returns. Good for tourism. Good for Belfast people. An education for some in tolerance Well done for presenting such a fun filled day in Belfast. The atmosphere was fantastic as was the entertainment. My little 1 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed her first festival too. Thanks for a great day
